Getting to know Mary Ann Maino-Socienski

Hello there, I am looking forward to working with you. I help my clients find solutions to real-life problems by setting realistic goals to calm their body and mind. My clients often find themselves actively enjoying their therapy sessions, rather than simply going through the motions. I aim to inspire my clients to make positive changes in their lives. I treat clients ages 18 to 65 and those experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem problems, stress, executive functioning difficulties, maladaptive coping skills, grief, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, school issues, peer relationships, sleep issues, PTSD, women's issues, impulse and control disorders, and mood disorders. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, breath work, and emotional freedom tapping techniques. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective care. What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients who choose me as their provider can expect a relaxed well-trained clinician who models consistency, reliability, accountability, and structure within the therapeutic relationship. Here, clients are offered a space where they can learn about examine, and discuss various solutions to real-life problems by setting realistic goals that actually work to calm the mind and body. Here clients can expect to grow personally and professionally with newfound skills and emotional regulation and holistic cognitive behavioral development. I am always welcoming and looking forward to the meeting creating a clearing space for reflection and review. It has also been my experience that clients enjoy and actually look forward to meetings often saying “Time was so fast where did it go I can’t believe the session is finished “.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients who engage in a clinical relationship with me will be met with a compassionate active listener who has an investigative style focused on correct problem identification. My skills such as clients participation, critical thinking, assessment, problem-solving, acceptance, and values-based cognitive behavioral therapy will be a focal point in the training and education component of sessions promoting client to autonomy, internal locus of control and health. The client is encouraged to become aware of internal dialogue that is to be verbally expressed and examined for better self-awareness and understanding.
