What should a new client know about working with you?

For over a decade she has worked to create safe, collaborative, intersectional opportunities for young people and adults to feel seen, valued, and connected. Mary has used her past platform as a community leader and theatre teacher to bring advocacy and mental health tools for LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion and cultural humility, appreciation, and youth advocacy social justice to spaces and places they wouldn’t normally reach but where families and youth already feel a sense of agency and belonging. As a counselor, they want to extend the scope of this connection to include connecting with clients to help each person reach outside their homes and immediate community to feel and create a true sense of shared belonging in the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Moving alongside clients as the experts in their own lived experience, Mary supports clients in forging new paths for themselves. In this way, they hope to contribute positively in the field of clinical mental health to embrace and combine diverse perspectives on trauma informed care with creative practices of artistic expression.
