Matthew Marquardt, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from The Citadel and have built experience across trauma treatment, integrated healthcare, and outpatient therapy settings. My clinical training at Medical University of South Carolina included specialized PTSD treatment work with burn victims. Most recently, I served as the primary mental health provider for two primary care clinics, working closely with medical doctors to help patients manage mental health concerns alongside their overall health and well-being. My experience has allowed me to develop significant experience treating a broad range of mental health concerns while staying focused on practical, evidence-based care. My approach to therapy is direct, goal oriented, and centered on helping clients create meaningful, measurable progress in their lives.

Getting to know Matthew Marquardt

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is centered on outcomes, progress, and creating meaningful change. I believe therapy should actively help improve your life rather than remain solely focused on insight or conversation. My role is to help you identify what is keeping you stuck, develop practical strategies that fit your life, and build measurable progress toward the goals that matter most to you. I focus on helping clients leave sessions with direction, clarity, and tools they can actually apply outside of therapy. When helpful, I also assist clients in identifying outside resources, supports, or systems that can accelerate progress and reduce barriers to improvement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, my goal is to help you begin making sense of what has been going on and create a comfortable space where you can openly discuss your concerns. We will spend time talking through the challenges you are facing, gathering important background information, and identifying patterns that may be contributing to stress or difficulty. I will also walk you through what to expect from therapy, answer any questions you may have, and begin helping you build a clear and realistic path forward that is tailored to your goals and needs
