Matthew Word, LMSW, CHT, holds a Master's in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. He works with adults, children, teens, families, and couples, blending the essential qualities of a trauma-based psychotherapist, depth hypnosis practitioner, and shamanic counselor. Matthew skillfully helps clients navigate their challenges with compassion and care, guiding them toward new levels of well-being, self-awareness, and freedom. Each client's process is unique and shaped by their interests and needs. Using his wisdom, experience, and training, Matthew partners with clients to help them meet their goals while always honoring their autonomy, individuality, and precious humanity. Matthew is certified in several therapeutic modalities, including Depth Hypnosis, EMDR, and SMART. He employs these and other approaches to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, addictive issues, and emotional regulation difficulties. In alignment with the process at Middle Way Healing, Matthew's goal is to help people find stability and grounding, reprocess difficult experiences and trauma, and become their best selves.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is client-centered, so I work differently with each client. You are probably here because you need help, my approach is to help people to the best of my abilty. Generally this means I am compassionate and open-minded, but if you need bluntness or a direct approach, I can show up that way. I do my best to understand what you need to breakthough what is troubing you and I use my training to partner with you to achieve your goals.
