Hello, I'm Megan. Life can be challenging at times. Whether you're going through major life changes or simply navigating the everyday ups and downs, these experiences can significantly impact your well-being, especially if you don't have the proper coping skills and tools to work through them. It can seem overwhelming and maybe even impossible to deal with these life stressors and the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that accompany them. I'm here to help guide your mental health journey, and together we can learn how to manage the challenges life throws at you. In 2019, I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Now, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have been working in a substance abuse and mental health treatment center, implementing individual and group therapy for the past couple of years. Prior to that, I worked as a social worker and as a mental health professional at the VA, in a medical hospital, in an inpatient psychiatric unit, and provided in-home therapy. I thoroughly enjoy working with those struggling with substance abuse and am currently working on obtaining my Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), which I expect to complete by December 2022. I focus mainly on adults, as well as older adults, using motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-centered therapy to help clients think about the issues they are facing from a different perspective. By changing the way you think, you can feel empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. I also enjoy utilizing a spiritual and holistic approach if that is something you would find helpful. I will work with you to develop a trusting relationship in which you feel heard and valued. Together, we can overcome difficult life obstacles and come out on the other side happy, healthy, and whole. If you're ready to start this journey together, I look forward to meeting you and supporting you every step of the way.
