My name is Megan, and I am very happy you are looking into mental health care services. Seeking mental health care is such a courageous step in your healing journey and I am honored to be a part of that! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Northern Colorado. I specialize in treating trauma related conditions, anxiety, and mood disorders in adults. I strive to create an environment in which clients feel safe to explore their identities, thoughts, emotions, perspectives, and challenge themselves to make the changes they want to, to ultimately summit their treatment goals! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (BA) my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA) both from The University of Northern Colorado. My clinical background consists of treating adults, teens, and children with a wide range of mental health conditions. My specialties include treating trauma related conditions, anxiety, and mood disorders. While I have years of experience working with children and teens, currently I am only accepting adult clients. I use a blend of therapeutic modalities because I find that it allows me to treat each person individually. I often implement strengths based approaches to help clients utilize their strengths effectively and improve resilience. Person Centered: You are the expert in your own life! Your perspective is extremely important in the therapeutic process, and I hold extensive space for openly exploring this. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Challenging the way we think can change how we feel and how we respond to situations that might lead to trauma reactions, anxiety, depression, anger, etc. Here is a bit more about me personally! I primarily grew up in Colorado along the front range and have enjoyed many of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. Generally speaking, if I am not providing therapy, I am spending time outside with my family and friends or snuggling with my cat!
