“Melissa is one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. She practices a client-centered approach and works to meet individuals where they are at. I appreciate how she listens to try and understand others better. Melissa is a dedicated and trustworthy person. I felt like I was able to tell her anything, and never felt like she judged me or what I told her. I wouldn't be who I am today without her empathetic guidance and unconditional support. ”

Getting to know Melissa Cribb

Picture this: It's late at night, and you're sitting in the dark, scrolling through your phone. Everyone else seems to have their lives together, but you feel trapped in a cycle of trauma and unhealthy behaviors. Every attempt to escape only leads you back to the same lonely place. Now imagine breaking that cycle, finding a community that truly understands, where you can share your story without judgment. I specialize in trauma and addiction therapy, with training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to address these challenges effectively. I hold a Master's in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University. In addition to trauma and addiction, I work with clients facing a range of mental health concerns, including relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and self-worth. My approach is tailored to each individual's needs, focusing on building effective coping skills and fostering personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our sessions, you can expect a safe, collaborative, and inclusive environment. I employ a holistic approach that integrates both the mind and body, recognizing that true healing often involves addressing multiple aspects of our well-being. My goal is to work with you to set clear, achievable goals for your treatment and to maintain transparency. I incorporate evidenced-based therapies like CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic therapy. I use a trauma-informed approach and integrate Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Somatic interventions for clients with trauma.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

From day one, we will work on developing a treatment plan and set achievable goals. I am transparent and will be honest with you about when therapy should end, ensuring you have a clear understanding of your progress and the appropriate next steps. Your story isn't over; let's write the next chapter together. **Appointments and Cancellations** Appointments are scheduled in advance, at a cadence we agree on, based on your goals, treatment needs, and our mutual availability. Payments for each appointment will be made through Headway by debit or credit card or ACH transfer. You may cancel appointments in advance without charge, as long as I receive notice far enough in advance. For appointment no-shows or last-minute cancellations, you may be charged a fee.
