My journey in mental health began in 1990 as a Peer Counselor while I was on active duty in the Marine Corps. This experience ignited my passion for supporting others, leading me to pursue degrees in Psychology and Social Work at UNCW/ECU. In 2004, I obtained my licensure to practice independently with the Virginia Board of Health Professionals. Originally from Hampton Roads, Virginia, I've had the privilege of working internationally with people from diverse backgrounds, enriching my understanding and approach to therapy. For over three decades, I've been dedicated to supporting the military community and the broader public with evidence-based treatments for trauma, particularly PTSD. My training includes effective modalities such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also formally trained to work with individuals of all ages, including non-directed play therapy for young children. In my practice, I believe in a holistic approach to therapy. I offer practical techniques such as yoga, acupressure, and breathing exercises to help alleviate symptoms and promote overall well-being. Whether through individual or family therapy, my goal is to help you become the best version of yourself. I bring a depth of experience and a compassionate, positive outlook to each session, ensuring that you feel supported and understood.
