What should a new client know about working with you?

Melissa likes to meet clients where they are so they can determine what pace they want and choose if they want to work on something. Melissa chooses to let the client learn about themselves to gain self-understanding in order to communicate better with loved ones, and build self-acceptance so they can commit to changing what they want to chance. Melissa focuses on play-based therapy for littles and works with client's experiencing anxiety, depression, grief & loss. She is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Melissa offers free 15 minute initial consultation phone calls to determine if she is a good fit and to hear about what the client or parent is looking for in terms of mental health support. The first session is used to get to know one another and build rapport. Client is able to determine how they want to utilize the space. The first priority is for the client to feel safe in the space.
