Getting to know Melissa Nunez

My priority is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and safe in the therapeutic space. With a background that emphasizes cultural sensitivity and fluency in Spanish, I am committed to fostering an environment where individuals from all walks of life can feel understood.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on the whole person rather than individual aspects, and work to help clients recognize their own strength and resilience in every moment. Additionally, I incorporate a psychodynamic approach, exploring how unconscious processes and past experience shape our present thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. I am open to utilizing diverse techniques from various therapeutic modalities to best meet each client's unique needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length on a weekly basis. Please allow 15 minutes before the session to do the intake paperwork. I PROVIDE PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES ONLY; PLEASE NOTE I DON’T PROVIDE MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
