Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Melissa! Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California. I earned my Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Alliant International University's California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in 2017. I also hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and a Bachelor's degree from Walden University. I have been practicing for over seven years in settings such as the California Department of Corrections and the Department of Veterans Affairs, Central California Health Care System. My experience is primarily with adults who have severe mental illness or symptoms that disrupt their sense of wellness and act as barriers to their happiness. My approach I am primarily a cognitive-behavioral therapist. If you have experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy and found it rigid or regimented, I have good news for you. For over seven years, I have helped people struggling with overwhelming worry, crippling self-doubt, a kaleidoscope of negative thoughts, and reluctance to engage socially, among other challenges, by independently utilizing tenants of CBT. I integrate these concepts in a comforting and welcoming way that feels fluid rather than structured. My focus I am most comfortable treating depressive and mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders, grief and loss, anger management, stress management, criminal justice, and relationship issues. Additionally, I have experience treating domestic violence, severe mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and suicidal ideation. I only see adult clients. My communication style My greatest strength as a provider is empathy. I care deeply about your success. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. There is no judgment in the therapy space. I will be honest with you as we work together to make positive and realistic changes.
