Hello, I'm Mickey. You have taken the first step in charting the journey you want to create in your life. Everyone has a journey, but sometimes it appears uncharted or unknown, and we need help charting a new path. Through a collaborative process, I will work alongside you in charting the journey you want to create. In 2020, I graduated from Adams State University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my first two post-graduate years, I worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate to obtain the required 2,000 supervised hours, primarily working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship dynamics, and trauma. Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I continue to work with these individuals, helping them process and gain a greater understanding of their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions while also focusing on coping skills, stress management, and developing boundaries. The theoretical orientation that best defines my approach to counseling is Psychodynamic theory. Psychodynamic theory revolves around the unconscious mind and how an individual's past experiences can shape their present and future experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. While this is my main theoretical orientation, I will adjust my approach according to my client's needs. If you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, life purpose, adjusting to change or life transition, self-esteem, struggles in peer and romantic relationships, and trauma, I want to work with you through a collaborative process on your journey. I will assist you in developing the tools and skills you need to connect with a greater understanding of who you are by charting your future path. Let's take this journey together.
