Getting to know Michael Scheman
Psychotherapy is ultimately about achieving a deeper understanding of the self, articulating the issues one struggles with, and creating a pathway toward change. It can be a challenge to shape our futures and to find the right therapist with whom you can establish a meaningful connection. Navigating the kinds of questions keeping you up at night means finding someone you can trust-someone with whom you can co-create a judgment-free, compassionate, empathetic landscape. I'm interested in finding out if we can build that kind of dynamic together.
Whatever the obstacles you're grappling with, you don't have to face them alone. We will explore the prism through which you see the world and work through self-growth in an individualized manner. You will come to recognize what's holding you back and find new ways of identifying joy through psychoanalytic change.
I tend to connect with creative people, members of the LGBTQ community, and those who value self-expression. I am also committed to working with couples, helping them enrich the connection they share. My patients learn to deal with conflict and understand how their relationships resonate in their lives.
I hold a Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Comprehensive Psychotherapy from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, which informs my approach and dedication to fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Michael is a really great therapist. He makes me feel totally free to speak my mind and feel my emotions as they come. I’ve really gained tools to use when dealing with my anxieties and Michael is the perfect facilitator in helping me gain those tools. I imagine seeing him for the rest of my life.
