Getting to know Michelle Barsky

Due to COVID-19, I am now conducting virtual video and phone sessions to support you during this time. Contact me for your free consult. No matter how much you get done, nothing feels like enough. Over time, you've become less productive despite your efforts to get organized. You just don't feel like yourself-you're tired, easily brought to tears, and feeling insecure. It used to feel like there was a plan, but now it feels hopeless. Maybe you've had a difficult past, and sometimes it's easier not to remember. You struggle to feel understood and to connect deeply with others. Sometimes you engage in self-destructive behavior to soothe your pain. You wonder if you'll ever be able to heal. It doesn't have to be like this. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, Brooklyn College. I work with your unique personality and individual needs to give you the tools to begin feeling better. Using a range of the most current, evidence-based treatments, we work together to address your anxiety, depression, or history of trauma. I'm passionate about supporting you on your journey back to yourself. You've been through a lot. Life isn't always fair, and ?overwhelming? is an understatement. You're a professional trying to hold it together amid work pressure, confusing relationships, complicated family dynamics, and unhealed wounds from your past. Together, we can understand the causes of your emotional distress, increase your self-awareness, develop coping skills, and adopt new perspectives.

Michelle is by far the easiest therapist to talk to. She seems like she is really listening to what I have to say and is in tune with getting to the root of the issue. She helped me come up with strategies to deal with the anxiety that I live with on a day to day basis. I highly recommend Michelle and would be willing to refer her to anyone looking for a caring professional who really takes the time to listen to her patients.
Michelle helped me and my husband work on our relationship and recognize the good things in each other we had stopped being able to see. She gave us useful exercises to work on at home and really challenged the way we were perceiving each other's motivations. I would highly recommend Michelle for couples counseling.
