Michelle J. Beaupre, MSW, PhD, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate degree in Mind Body Medicine from Saybrook Univeristy, with an emphasis in mental health treatment, a Master's degree in Social Work from University of New England, Portland, with an emphasis in addictions counseling and children, youth and families. She has a private practice in San Diego, California. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Educational Studies at University of New England. Michelle has over 15 years of experience working with individuals and couples and has been a licensed therapist for 10 years. She began her career working with youth and families at Spurwink Services in Portland Maine. She was trained in the Functional Family Therapy model to provide family therapy to youth and families involved in the Department of Corrections in Cumberland and York County Maine. She then moved from Maine to California to complete her PhD in Mind Body Medicine. While attending graduate school, she worked with youth involved in the Juvenile Justice system at San Diego Youth Services in San Diego County, providing supervision to staff and individual and group therapy to youth. In 2021 she began her private practice in Rancho Santa Fe, California. In addition, she is contracted to provide mental health services for Villa Oasis San Diego residential treatment center, serving those with substance use disorders. Her areas of expertise include: family and relationship issues, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and personal growth. She especially enjoys working with individuals with substance use disorders. She is trained in EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy. Michelle utilizes a multidimensional approach to therapy, exploring each individual's biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs. She desires to come along side others to assist them in healing from trauma, building self-worth, improving communication and reaching their goals.

Here are some steps you can take to make the most of your therapy experience: - Find the right therapist: The first step is to find a therapist who is a good fit for you. Look for someone who specializes in the type of issues you want to address and whose style matches your preferences. I hope I can be that person for you. - Set clear goals: It's important to have clear goals for therapy so that you and I are on the same page. In our first session, we will discuss your goals and work together to create a treatment plan that outlines the steps you will take to achieve those goals. - Try to be open and honest with me about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I am here to help you, and I can only do so if I have a clear understanding of what's going on. - Trust the process: Therapy can be a long process, and it's important to trust that the work you're doing with me will pay off in the end. It's also important to be patient and not expect instant results. - Practice self-care: In addition to attending therapy sessions, it's important to practice self-care on a regular basis. This may include activities such as exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones. - Keep an open mind: Finally, it's important to keep an open mind and be willing to try new things.
