Getting to know Michelle Telsey

I help individuals facing difficulties with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, past traumas, and family issues. The foundation of this work lies in meeting each client where they are, within an emotionally safe and secure space. With this in mind, I offer empathic and caring support to help clients better understand themselves, work through painful emotions, overcome personal obstacles, and move toward a more fulfilling life. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University and am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of New York. My approach is tailored to each individual, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based practices.

What should a new client know about working with you?

While I spend a good deal of time working to help my clients process and understand their experiences, my approach is also goal oriented and focused on achieving relief from acute distress. I prioritize helping clients address and resolve ongoing issues through a collaborative process of problem-solving in the here-and-now.
