Michelle Wright, LPC

Psychotherapist
6020 Erin Park Dr, Ste B-2, Colorado Springs, CO
Hello, I'm Michelle. My approach to counseling includes a variety of modalities and interventions, tailored to meet your unique needs. I am trained in EMDR, a treatment used to relieve distress associated with trauma and allow you to view past experiences in a more adaptive way. Additionally, I am certified in DBT, which provides interventions to teach you how to live in the present moment through mindfulness, develop healthy coping strategies to relieve stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships. I believe that a great amount of growth is gained from better understanding the sources of our struggles and gaining insight into our feelings, thoughts, and bodies' responses. With this awareness, you are empowered to change the patterns in which you may feel stuck. Therapy can be painful at times, but not as painful as not knowing how to move forward. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospice, Employee Assistance Programs, and community mental health, treating clients across the lifespan. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and attachment disorders, and I also enjoy working with family systems, including family and couples counseling. I am passionate about what I do, and I realize the honor it is to be your therapist. Making the decision to begin therapy can be scary and overwhelming. My hope is to make this process as easy as possible, as I recognize the courage and vulnerability this decision requires. If you feel ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey.
