Getting to know Mohamed Ege

Hi, I am Mohamed Ege, licensed mental health counselor associate. I offer individual therapy for adults seeking support, clarity, and a compassionate space to navigate life’s challenges. I understand what it’s like to feel stuck, to question who you are, to feel the weight of expectations, or to carry pain no one notices. You may be trying to make sense of experiences that shaped you in ways words cannot describe. I’ve been there too. My work is grounded in empathy, love, and faith, honoring your identity, culture, and spirituality as we work together toward greater self-awareness, emotional healing, and a more grounded, purposeful way of living.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, humanistic and grounded in existential phenomenology. I offer a space where you can show up as you are as we explore your experiences and their meaning. Together we’ll slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, look at patterns and the emotions beneath the surface, and support your growth with empathy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The process begins when you reach out via phone, email, or the online booking system. We’ll find a session time that works for you, and I’ll provide information about my services, fees, and policies. This is also a time for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. During the first session, we’ll focus on understanding your background, current challenges, and what brought you to therapy. You’ll complete an intake form, and I’ll ask questions about your mental health history, daily life, relationships, and goals. This helps me get a holistic picture of your experience so we can create a personalized plan together. After gathering information, we’ll collaborate to define clear goals for therapy. These goals are tailored to your needs, whether it’s managing anxiety, improving relationships, navigating life transitions, or increasing self-understanding. Together, we’ll outline a treatment plan and the strategies we’ll use to work toward your goals. In regular sessions, we focus on your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a warm, collaborative, and humanistic space. You are invited to show up as you are, and together we’ll explore the meaning behind your experiences. Sessions may include: slowing down to make sense of what you’re carrying and exploring the emotions beneath the surface; exploring patterns, beliefs, and experiences that shape your current challenges; and supporting your growth with empathy through reflective conversations, psychoeducation, or skills practice, when helpful, to navigate emotions, relationships, and daily life. Throughout therapy, we periodically review your progress. This may involve reflecting on changes you’ve noticed, adjusting strategies, and updating goals. Feedback is important: your input shapes the direction of therapy to ensure it’s meeting your needs.
