Psychotherapist
VT
I work with adults experiencing a broad spectrum of emotional and psychological challenges. If you are struggling with managing day-to-day life stressors, anxiety, depression, or PTSD, I will meet you where you are at. Helping to improve your quality of life by addressing your mental health challenges, concerns, and treatment goals is my priority as a therapist. I believe the process of normalizing and engaging in therapy can be as unique as you are. How and why, we choose to navigate, address or avoid life experiences is complex. Gaining insight and self-awareness to better understand emotional and behavioral reactions will strengthen your ability to recognize and understand your own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and characteristics. Improving your emotional intelligence will help you to take better care of yourself, have deeper interpersonal relationships, build trust, improve communication, solve problems, and be your healthiest self. My therapy style is eclectic, and client centered. Incorporating and utilizing multiple evidence- based therapeutic techniques and modalities allows me to create a customized treatment plan unique to your treatment goals, expectations and motivation. I utilize Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavorial Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavorial Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamics, and EMDR. If you would like to treat PTSD I use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). If you are unsure or not ready to process trauma with EMDR, I am more than happy to provide comprehensive Trauma-Informed Care. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Vermont. I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Woker (LCSW) for 14 years and recently completed 8 years as an Active-Duty Navy Clinical Social Worker. I look forward to working with Veterans and their families and I am equally as excited to once again work with non-military clients.
