Monica Rowell, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Monica. I received my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado in 2012. My journey to becoming a therapist began as an elementary school teacher, which eventually led me to various social support positions and finally to counseling. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with families navigating major transitions and parenting challenges, and I've supported individuals through crisis response, dealing with traumatic and unimaginable events. With extensive experience in psychotherapy and neurofeedback, I've worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, particularly survivors of interpersonal violence, understanding the complexities of these relationships. I specialize in helping clients with trauma, relationship conflict, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, spirituality, and meaning-making. Regardless of what brings you to counseling, my goal is to provide a warm and welcoming space for you to uncover and develop the strengths you already possess. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I focus on helping you gain a better understanding of what is going on in your brain and body, and working with you to develop skills to connect with yourself and regulate your nervous system. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and client-centered, with you setting the pace. I recognize that each of us has a unique story shaped by people, places, events, and circumstances. I strive to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can be your whole self. Within your story, you'll have the opportunity to heal from the pain that has impacted you, and together we'll develop strategies to bring about the life you want. I look forward to walking with you on this journey.
