Getting to know Morgan Dominguez

I specialize in PTSD, Complex Trauma, and Couples Counseling. I am EMDR trained and utilize trauma-focused CBT to treat clients who have experienced physical, psychological, and sexual trauma. As a Certified Sex Therapist, I see individuals and couples seeking to overcome sexual difficulties and other relationship issues. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Hawai‘i, Hilo.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an eclectic, collaborative approach to ensure an individualized, multicultural, and strengths-based lens when working with clients to ensure effectiveness of treatment. I bring empathy, humor and enthusiasm to sessions, which I believe has a positive influence on the therapeutic relationship. The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I conduct talk therapy with a collaborative treatment approach where feedback is welcomed. I hold my clients accountable to work towards treatment goals by setting up realistic intentions to promote motivation to make positive changes in their life. I meet clients where they are at, and provide behavioral change recommendations based on insights I provide.
