What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy with the belief that you are capable of change, even when life feels difficult or you are unsure where to begin. I focus on building a genuine, trusting relationship where we can have useful conversations about who you are, what matters most to you, and who you hope to become. Together, we will identify your strengths, clarify your desired outcomes, and take meaningful steps forward without judgment or expectation that you have everything figured out right away. I will meet you with compassion, ask thoughtful questions, celebrate progress both big and small, and remain committed to supporting you as you move closer to the life you want.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a collaborative intake where I take time to understand your presenting concerns, personal history, strengths, relationships, cultural background, current supports, and hopes for therapy. I also complete appropriate screening and risk assessments to help identify needs related to safety, mental health symptoms, substance use, and daily functioning. From there, we develop a person-centered treatment plan with clear, realistic goals that reflect what matters most to you, and we revisit it as your needs and progress evolve. In active therapy, I primarily use person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help you identify strengths, understand patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, and take practical steps toward rebuilding and achieving your desired outcomes. I aim to create a reassuring and collaborative space where we can have honest, useful conversations, celebrate progress, and adjust our approach as needed.
