“I was a widower and my wife went through a very rough divorce. Her 3 teenage children didn’t even want to her to date and were often unpleasant to me. I was less than sympathetic to the kids and we both knew it was the other one’s fault. Then we met Naomi! She was amazing. She is very smart, compassionate and so insightful. Naomi patiently helped us to understand ourselves and each other and we would not be as happy as we are without her help. We’re not quite the Brady Bunch, but we all get along very well and now have the tools to navigate the rough spots that inevitably come up. ”

Getting to know Naomi Davidson

It is a privilege to work with people in their very personal effort to grow emotionally and enrich their lives. I am an interpersonal-relational (not classical) psychoanalytic psychotherapist, treating individuals and couples through all stages of the life cycle: from mid-teens through people in their mid-eighties. I have been a clinician for 28 years, in full-time private practice for 22 years. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety and panic, sleep and eating difficulties, career decisions, and relationship crises around communication, infidelity, and loss. I also have a specialty in working with high achieving individuals and couples with extensive and specialized corporate responsibilities, who are experiencing depression and anxiety. The essence of my approach can be characterized by what I have termed "The Five C's," including Curiosity, Creative Collaboration, Culture, Compassion, and Communication. I do both short and long term treatment; I see people once a week, and at times with more frequency. Please note that I do not accept credit cards.

You'll get exceptional care from this thoughtful therapist whom I have known for 15+ years. She will tackle any issue with you, always using a respectful and collaborative approach. Explore struggles in your personal relationships, challenges you face at work or anything else. Naomi offers pragmatic strategies for dealing with life and will help you feel better about yourself too. You'll feel pampered in her calm and elegant office.
A friend recommended Naomi when my husband of many years and I encountered a very hard spot. We have each had some experience with therapy but Naomi is at the head of the class. She is extremely insightful, extra ordinarily bright and a delight to work with, even when the material is very painful. It is a pleasure to be helped and understood. For us she is doing family therapy but she helps each of us understand ourselves better. Sorry to sound so effusive, but gratitude is in order to someone who makes such a difference.
If you are interested in solving problems, dealing with a crisis ad understanding yourself better through the process, then I highly recommend Naomi. She has helped me a number of time over the past 14 years tackle through situations that have arisen in my life. She does so with compassion, great insight, directness, collaborative discovery and when appropriate, humor. I recommend her without hesitation!
