Getting to know Nathaniel Ross

Nate Ross is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in Washington, DC, and also holds a Licensed Social Worker Associate–Advanced (LSWAA) credential in Washington State. Nate completed his graduate studies at The Catholic University of America, earning a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Social Work. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the District of Columbia, majoring in Psychology. Nate has provided experienced clinical support and services to individuals challenged with mental health and physical health disparities. As a clinician, Nate's approach to counseling is to create a safe space for growth and healing. He believes that growth and healing happen when people recognize that they have a circle of care-including clinicians-that show them empathy and support, that they can rely on, and that have their best interests in mind. His therapeutic techniques include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy to create an atmosphere where the client recognizes that they are in control of their therapeutic experience. Nate assists clients dealing with a variety of mental health disorders and life circumstances that bring them into counseling. Several years of work with adults has added to his array of experience, including working with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, conflict resolution, relationship changes, communication skills, and more. One of the best parts of therapy, Nate says, is being able to see a client through choices and transitions in their thought processes, leading to positive actions and life changes. He looks forward to working with you through that process. Nate offers sliding scale therapy sessions for patients without insurance to remove that obstacle to receiving mental health care.
