Nicholas Hill, LPC, MA

Psychotherapist
1911 Main Ave, Ste 234, Durango, CO
You are not broken. You are adapted. The anxiety that won’t settle, the tension that holds you back, the exhaustion of always performing strength: these all make sense. You survived something, and your body remembers. I work with adults shaped by high-pressure environments, complex trauma, high-conflict relationships, instability, or a lifetime of holding it together for everyone else. If your nervous system never truly relaxes, or therapy has helped you understand your patterns without changing them, this work goes deeper. My approach is somatic and trauma-focused, integrating body-centered therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and relational work. Rather than focusing only on thoughts and behaviors, we pay attention to breath, tension, impulses, and the body's responses. These aren't problems to fix, but signals to understand. With greater awareness, safety, and curiosity, you can begin to shift patterns that once helped you survive but no longer serve you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Hakomi graduate, and crisis professional with experience supporting people through complex trauma, emotional distress, and relationship challenges. I work with adults and couples seeking meaningful change in the areas that can be hardest to discuss: intimacy, sexuality, desire, shame, attachment wounds, and relational patterns. Together, we work toward greater steadiness, self-trust, and connection, creating space for change that is not just understood intellectually, but experienced and lived. Free consultations are available to explore whether working together is a good fit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is a space to slow down, get curious about your patterns, and explore what may be keeping you stuck. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on or have the right words to describe it. My approach is collaborative and tailored to you, balancing practical support with deeper exploration. We’ll work at your pace, building understanding, developing new ways of relating to yourself and others, and creating change that carries into your daily life.
