Getting to know Nicole Caldwell

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, depression, burnout, trauma-related stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with focus and emotional regulation, and are looking for practical tools to feel more in control of their daily lives. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and focused on real-life change. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being open while also working toward clear, meaningful goals. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based strategies. Sessions are structured but flexible, and we focus on building practical skills you can use outside of therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting—therapy is a place to explore what’s going on, gain clarity, and move forward at your own pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we’ll talk through what’s been going on, what brought you in, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, current challenges, and goals, and we’ll begin identifying patterns and areas to focus on. From there, sessions are tailored to your needs and typically include a mix of exploring thoughts and emotions, developing coping strategies, and building practical skills such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, and improving focus or organization. My goal is to make therapy feel both supportive and productive, so you leave sessions with insight as well as tools you can apply in your daily life.
