Getting to know Nicole Clark

As a licensed clinical mental health counselor, I provide compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is person-centered and integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed practices to meet each client’s unique needs. I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When a client first reaches out, we typically begin with a brief phone consultation or intake session. This allows me to understand the main concerns, explain my approach, and determine whether we’re a good fit to work together. In our first few sessions, I gather more detailed information about your background, current challenges, and goals. Together, we clarify what you’d like to work on and what success would look like for you. Based on your needs and preferences, I tailor an approach that could include cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, solution-focused work, or other evidence-based methods. We’ll also agree on the frequency and duration of sessions. Each session is a space for you to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive environment. We’ll work collaboratively—sometimes identifying patterns, sometimes building skills, and other times simply creating space for reflection and healing. Throughout the process, we’ll regularly check in on your goals and adjust our approach as needed. This helps ensure that the work remains meaningful and effective for you. When you're ready, we’ll begin planning for the end of counseling—reviewing progress, reinforcing tools you’ve learned, and exploring how you can maintain gains or continue growing on your own or with other supports.
