Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Nissa, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Art Therapist based in Denver, CO. I attended graduate school at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA, where I honed my skills and passion for helping others through therapy and art. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that everyone is capable of growth and achieving harmony within themselves. I find that art can be a powerful tool to facilitate this process, allowing for expression and healing in ways that words sometimes cannot capture. I specialize in working with children, adults, and families dealing with grief, loss, anxiety, trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a certified SoulCollage® Facilitator and trained in Trauma-Informed Art Therapy and Expressive Art Therapies, I bring a unique and creative approach to my sessions. I also have the privilege of supervising students and post-graduate Art Therapists, helping to shape the next generation of therapists. Art has always been a significant part of my life. I've been drawing and painting since early childhood and have personally experienced the profound benefits of using art as a therapeutic tool. For my own self-care, I enjoy working with various mediums, including paint, fiber arts, and SoulCollage®, although I wish I had more time to indulge in these activities. In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate and supportive environment where we can explore your challenges and work towards your goals together. Whether through traditional talk therapy or incorporating art, we'll find the best approach for you. If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to create a path towards a more harmonious and fulfilling life.
