Getting to know Dr. Nofar (Glisko) Arastehmanesh

At some point in life, many of us begin to wonder who we truly are, how we connect with others, and what drives us forward. This journey can be challenging and is difficult to embark on alone. Part of this path involves learning to embrace our emotions-recognizing what they reveal about our needs and desires, without becoming overwhelmed by them. In our work together, I use a blend of traditional therapeutic practices and somatic therapy to help navigate these barriers. Somatic therapy guides us to tune into the body's signals to understand why certain thoughts and feelings arise. We'll notice physical cues-like a racing heart or tension in the stomach-as we discuss your experiences. This approach helps us recognize if these signals align or contrast with your thoughts. Together, we'll create a welcoming space to reflect on both your experiences, helping you understand how they shape your daily life and empowering you to move forward with greater clarity. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Adler University and hold a Bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, which have equipped me with a strong foundation to support you on this journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with you to create a warm, supportive environment that makes it easier to explore what led you to begin therapy. My goal is to offer guidance as you reflect on your past choices and the direction you want to take moving forward. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and I draw on my psychodynamic training to understand the kind of support that will be most beneficial for you. Together, we’ll gradually develop and adjust this approach as we learn more about who you are and where you want to go.

I am an In-Network provider with Northwell Direct Tier 1 plans. We provide out-of-network billing support for reimbursement for all other clients. If we are not in-network with your plan we will work to get you significant reimbursement for the cost of your sessions. We submit claims on behalf of our patients so that you don’t have to deal with your insurance company. Here’s how works. Before you start therapy we will collect your insurance information, check your insurance benefits, provide you with an estimate of those benefits, and then allow you to make the most educated decision possible about your investment in therapy. If you decide to work with us, we will submit your insurance claims every week and give you access to the portal to check the status of the reimbursements. It is our goal to always remain transparent and to make the process of insurance reimbursements as clear as possible.
