Olivia Lane, LCSW

Psychotherapist
15 W 38th St, Ste 1100, New York, NY
I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in mood, anxiety, and emotional disorder care for adolescents and adults. Many of the people I work with are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Some are struggling with anxiety or depression, working through past experiences or trauma, navigating a major life transition, or simply trying to cope with challenges that have become difficult to manage on their own. They are looking for a place where they can slow down, make sense of what they're going through, and better understand themselves. Together, we can address these concerns and work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and equipped to handle life's ups and downs. I believe that starting therapy can be an important step toward feeling more connected to yourself and more equipped to handle life's challenges. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out, and you don't have to navigate difficult moments on your own. I would be honored to work alongside you as you gain clarity, build new skills, and move toward the life and sense of well-being you're looking for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: We are not accepting Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. I became a therapist because I've always wanted to help people through the parts of life that can feel too heavy to navigate alone. I've seen how meaningful it can be to have someone who can listen without judgment, help you make sense of what you're experiencing, and remind you that you don't have to figure everything out at once. That belief continues to shape the way I practice. I bring genuine curiosity, compassion, and a down-to-earth perspective to my work, and value creating a space where patients feel comfortable being honest about where they are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I don't believe therapy should look the same for everyone, and I'm passionate about getting to know you as an individual to find an approach that feels meaningful, manageable, and useful in your everyday life. In our sessions, you can expect a space where you can be yourself without worrying about judgment. I take the time to really understand what you're experiencing and what feels most important to you before we decide where to go next. Sessions tend to feel warm, conversational, and collaborative, while also giving you practical tools you can use outside of therapy. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with Mindfulness and psychoeducation, to help you understand your thoughts and emotions and develop tools that fit into everyday life. Some sessions may involve learning new coping skills, while others may be about processing a difficult experience or simply having space to talk through something that's been weighing on you. I'll meet you where you are and adjust our work as your needs change.
