Orly Bentata Goldenberg is a psychotherapist and founder of Smart Therapy PC. She holds a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and a Bachelor's degree from Yeshiva University. Her patients' overall well-being is of paramount importance, and she strives to provide the best therapy plans for them. Patients visit her to manage depression, stress, and anxiety disorders, as well as to receive counseling sessions. Orly is fluent in English and Spanish. She encourages the all-around development of her clients and helps them work toward the same.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Orly's style is direct, client-focused and compassionate. She predominately uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring these evidence-based approaches to the needs of each client, and working with them to ensure they feel relevant to, and effective for, their daily lives.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length. Clients have the option of meeting on a weekly or biweekly basis.

I have been seeing Orly for about a year now. Orly established trust very early and always demonstrated that she was listening and attentive. I feel I have made excellent progress in this past year and Orly has been a major contributing factor. I have already recommended her to friends and co-workers and will continue to do so.

My sessions have been going really well. I honestly was apprehensive at first to start therapy but Orly made me feel so comfortable and heard. I was able to open up about things that I didn’t even realized bothered me. I look forward to my sessions with Orly as she is very understanding and helps me put things into perspective. I would highly recommend!

Orly helps me in such innovative and thoughtful ways. I was having family issues as well as sleep issues and she not only helped me work through them and get to root but she also assigned me tasks and meditation rontes that calmed my spirits and let me sleep.

I always have a great experience speaking with Orly. She took the time to learn where and what I personally wanted to work on and achieve through our sessions. Orly is a great listener and helps me think through difficult situations that I am experiencing. She keeps things very professional while at the same time I feel like she can relate to me and understands what I’m going through. She makes me feel very comfortable during our sessions and I always come out of the sessions feeling better than I did going in. She is very considerate with your time and is often flexible when something comes up on my end.
