You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. You may only know that something feels difficult, that a familiar way of coping is no longer working, or that you want your life or relationships to feel different. In therapy, we work together to understand the thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and experiences shaping your struggles. As a therapist, I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and major life transitions. I'll help you build practical coping and emotional regulation skills, approach yourself with greater self-compassion, clarify your values, and respond to challenges with more flexibility and intention. The goal is to strengthen self-trust and create changes that feel meaningful, realistic, and sustainable. I believe meaningful change becomes possible when you feel understood enough to be honest and supported enough to try something new, and my role is to be that steady, compassionate, and active partner as you make sense of what you're carrying and recognize the patterns shaping your choices. We can begin where you are and work toward greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful change in everyday life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: We are not able to accept Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by more than two decades of experience across countries, careers, cultures, and life roles. Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a lawyer, filmmaker, nonprofit leader, and mother. Moving through these different identities gave me a deep appreciation for how complex and nonlinear life can be, especially when a relationship, career, identity, or familiar way of living begins to change. These experiences strengthened my commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive care grounded in the realities of each person's life. I bring curiosity, steadiness, and respect for the many parts of each patient's story to my practice now, along with an appreciation for the courage it takes to question familiar patterns and begin again.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Working with me is warm, collaborative, and active. I create space for you to feel heard while also helping you look honestly at patterns that may be contributing to your distress. In our sessions, I ask thoughtful and sometimes direct questions, offer practical tools, and gently challenge avoidance, self-criticism, black-and-white thinking, or familiar responses that are no longer serving you. Together, we slow down reactions, explore what lies beneath them, and distinguish productive problem-solving from worry or rumination. My approach balances insight with action: we build emotional awareness, strengthen coping and regulation skills, clarify your needs and values, and practice more flexible ways of responding. The goal is not perfection, but greater self-trust and meaningful change.
