After many years in the corporate sector, I decided to follow my passion for helping others and graduated from Tulane University in 1999 to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since high school, I've always had a goal of supporting people through life's challenges, and I'm grateful to be able to do that every day in my practice. Since 2000, I've had the privilege of working as a Clinical Social Worker in various settings, including high schools, agencies, private practice, the VA, and military installations worldwide. My experience spans working with individuals aged 13 to 75, and I specialize in supporting adolescents, urban Native Americans, and military service members and their families. For the past 15 years, I've particularly enjoyed working with these populations, as well as with individuals and couples navigating life's transitions. My therapeutic style is laid back and real. I believe in meeting my clients where they are, identifying their strengths, and considering all factors involved in their situation. Together, we determine treatment goals that are attainable without being overwhelming. I use a variety of treatment modalities to help my clients achieve their goals, often assigning simple homework tasks and providing new skills and tools to bring about lasting change. The therapeutic relationship and knowing what to expect are so important. I hope this information helps you get a sense of who I am and how I work.
