Psychotherapist
CO
Hi, my name is Paul-André, and I live in Massachusetts with an office in Providence, Rhode Island. I am also licensed as an LPC in Colorado and see clients virtually through SonderMind. As a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Mali (1991-1994), I bring a wealth of diverse experiences to my practice. In my free time, I immerse myself in the great outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking, kayaking, biking, and hot yoga. My journey into mindfulness began in 1994 while I was in Kolkata, India, and it has profoundly influenced my approach to therapy. I earned my third master's degree from Naropa University, where I studied Transpersonal Psychotherapy for three years. Naropa was a unique experience, with meditation cushions instead of desks, and each class began with 20 minutes of silent meditation. When we meet, our sessions will focus on the goals you set forth during your intake. I will function as a facilitator as we work together. So much of what happens in therapy is outside of our sessions when you will engage in homework that will deepen your experience of self and eventually bring greater balance to your life. I approach my work from a place of loving-kindness. I have found that many people ready to change can be somewhat aggressive in their expectations. This is why I placed the quote in my 'mini-bio.' I specialize in a wide range of areas, including addiction, anger management, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, gender identity, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, sleep disorders, learning disorders, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. As a Certified Addiction Specialist and Licensed Professional Counselor, I am well-equipped to support you through various challenges. Let's begin a journey together!
