Getting to know Rachel Hayes

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with Empower Psychotherapy who works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addictions, PTSD, family trauma, and relationship challenges. I specialize in integrative & evidence based approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-focused therapy. When appropriate, I also incorporate mind-body practices like aromatherapy, grounding techniques, and mindfulness-based care to support holistic healing—connecting mind, body, and spirit in the therapeutic process. This integrative lens allows us to address emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of well-being. My clinical background includes multiple levels of care—IOP, VIOP, and inpatient programs for eating disorders—and I bring this depth of experience into the virtual space, helping clients access healing from the comfort and privacy of their own home. Whether you’re seeking virtual counseling for trauma recovery, emotional regulation, anxiety and depression support, or relational growth, I am here to walk alongside you. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive space for healing, insight, and transformation through telehealth therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and supportive environment. I create a safe space where clients feel empowered to explore challenges, clarify values, and set meaningful goals. As an experienced online therapist, my style is grounded in evidence-based modalities including DBT, CBT, EMDR, and Brainspotting. I tailor each online session to meet your unique needs, honoring your pace, preferences, and lived experience. I deeply value honesty, authenticity, and trust. I view therapy as a team effort—one where we work together to foster insight, resilience, and lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins in our initial online therapy sessions, where I take time to understand your story, history, and goals. Whether you're seeking support or exploring deeper healing, we’ll co-create a personalized plan that reflects your unique needs and values. Depending on your goals, sessions may include structured, evidence-based techniques such as EMDR, Brainspotting, DBT, or CBT. As an experienced online therapist, I also offer skill-building for emotional regulation, trauma processing, and exploring relationship dynamics—all within a safe, supportive space. When appropriate, I may integrate aromatherapy to help reconnect mind, body, and spirit—enhancing the depth of your healing journey. Throughout our work together, I remain focused on helping you feel empowered, supported, and equipped with practical tools to move forward.

Rachel is a great therapist who has become a friend. She is compassionate and knowledgeable.
Rachel was great. She really helped put things in perspective.

Rachel is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, courteous, supportive and helpful. She listens with understanding. She freely gives resources, suggests groups, books, classes, etc., to help me on my journey. She gives me homework to help me break down situations to find the root cause and address it. She does EMDR and brain spotting which have also been very helpful for me. I would recommend Rachel to anyone I know who needs a counselor.
Rachel literally saved my life. I was dying physically and emotionally. EMDR and Brainspotting were what really made a difference. I refer everyone to her.
Rachel is a wonderful and knowledgeable therapist! I appreciate her straight-forward, yet kind and connected manner. She gave me some great ideas/resources, and held space for me while I worked through a few more "layers" of healing and behavioral compensation patterns. She's great!
Rachel has been a miracle working for me and my mental health. For me Ive had a hard time finding someone I can talk to that actually listened and had a solution if I put in the work till I found Rachel . So I dug deep and she was right there in my corner guiding me through EMDR and Brain Spotting. And let me tell you I have never in my life experienced such an incredible release of past traumas and the healing I have received. It was like I was able to see feel and think more openly and with ease. The once noisy traumatic memories of my childhood were now silent and no longer triggered my attacks. It allowed room for more positive memories to fill the space. I have come so far in my journey since 2022 and I couldn't have done it without Rachel.
If you have been telling yourself to go to therapy; but that you don't trust anyone and it doesn't fit into your schedule I urge you to reach out to RH Counciling. I felt exactly that way before I reached out. Working with Rachel has, and continues to make a great impact in my daily life. No matter what is going on or how busy life gets I know that she will be there when I need her. Beyond that it's nice to know that someone is always there for you, but also hopes that one day you will grow so much that you won't need them anymore.
I have been seeing Rachel for awhile now. I feel very comfortable talking to her. We do brain spotting which I feel is very effective. She is very knowledgeable and kind. She cares and it shows.
