Getting to know Rachel Liles

I bring a down-to-earth and often humorous approach to therapy. My focus includes individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, body image issues, and relationship difficulties. I also have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, offering a safe, affirming space to explore gender, sexuality, and identity. My style is collaborative and tailored to you. We’ll look at how your past shapes your present, uncover patterns that no longer serve you, and build new ways of thinking, relating, and setting boundaries. I draw from a range of therapeutic methods, always focused on what works best for you. I earned my BS and MSW from NYU. Before starting my private practice in 2011, I gained valuable experience at institutions like Beth Israel Hospital, the Ali Forney Center, Callen-Lorde, Park Slope Center for Mental Health, and the Staten Island LGBT Center. In addition to my clinical work, I have received specialized training and mentorship from the Psychoanalytic Association of New York, the Center for Group Studies, and the Center for Modern Psychoanalysis. If you're ready to understand yourself, shift long-standing patterns, and build better relationships, I can help. The work isn’t quick or surface-level—it’s about real change that lasts.
