Rachel Sosland, LCSW has worked for over 20 years at The Parkside School on Manhattan’s west side as a clinical social worker. Ms. Sosland received her BA from Smith College and her MSW from Columbia University Social Work School. She continued her training at The Post Graduate Center for Mental Health’s child and adolescent psychotherapy program. She has worked with both special needs and neurotypical children, specializing in child centered psychotherapy. “My goal is to get to know the child through the therapeutic relationship; together we can recognize, reflect and learn about his/her/their emotions. We do this through a wide range of activities, games and talking. In this way, the child or teen feels seen and heard and from this point can be supported in growth and development. Working with the child/teen and often with the parents, we can find practical, useful and effective ways of managing, solving and living with areas of challenge.”
