Getting to know Rachel Wise

You might be feeling a loss of connection to yourself, your life, your partner... seeking more clarity, a deeper sense of self, self-exploration, increased self-esteem, and a way to live life more fully and free from an anxious mind. Maybe you want to resolve communication issues with your partner, or you’re a parent looking for guidance and support with your children. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in vicious emotional and interactional cycles that are hard to break. If any of this sounds familiar, I would love to hear from you. Let’s talk about your goals and how I can help you achieve them. I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. My training equips me to support you in navigating these challenges and fostering meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As your therapist, I will take a collaborative position with you, understanding that therapy is a very unique experience for everyone. You have a unique story, and I'm here to listen. I will be direct and give you a gentle push when needed, yet also offer plenty of compassion and support. I'm committed to your success, just like you are. Being a "marriage and family therapist" doesn't mean I only work with couples & families! This just means that I see our circumstances through a relational lens. We are the way we are because of our relationships... relationships to our parents, to the community, our children, and most importantly the relationship to ourselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book your session on Zocdoc, I will confirm the session time on my end via email. Then I will add you to my secure portal to have you fill out some new client forms. I use Zoom for our virtual sessions. After you have completed the paperwork, I will send you a Zoom link via email that we will use for all of our sessions together. If you have any questions, send me an email!

Rachel is always energetic and so supportive. I truly feel heard by her and am always looking forward to sessions. She is also extremely smart, compassionate, and I love the way she challenges me so that I can be the best version of myself! I have grown so much as an individual since I have started therapy with her and I don’t know what I would do without her. Best therapist hands down.
Rachel listens. She cares. I've never met someone who just heard my struggles in such a non-judgemental way before. With her guidance, I'm thinking differently about things and feeling less anxious every day. I've already told a number of friends to see her as well.
