Randall Rhodes, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Prior to working as a counselor, I worked in a demanding industry and understand the stresses that come with a high-pressure job. I recognize the importance of maintaining “work-life harmony” between family life, recreation, health, faith, and time on the job. These are the timbers, or beams, on which we build each layer of our lives. No person is an island, and I believe in helping people build their natural support systems, which include family, friends, teammates, and colleagues, to name a few. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Regent University, which has equipped me with the skills to support individuals in strengthening these vital connections.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify conflicting thoughts, feelings, and actions. Usually, overcoming these conflicts allows us to move forward in all areas of life. I primarily work with men, young adults, and adolescents. I specialize in working with young men and issues of grief & loss.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Ambitious people, especially men, tend to struggle with balancing work and life. As clients walk away from counseling sessions, I want them to learn skills that help them develop “work-life harmony” that will lead to a meaningful life.
