Hello, I'm Raymell. My counseling style embraces the principles of Positive Psychology, which is based on the belief that we should be as concerned with a person's strengths as we are with their weaknesses. This approach is client-centered, focusing on building the best parts of an individual while also addressing and repairing the more challenging aspects. I believe in using a kind, yet direct approach with my clients, working in a non-judgmental manner and meeting them exactly where they are in life. My strong belief in the healing process has allowed me the honor of being a part of positive change in the lives of my clients. I utilize a variety of therapeutic tools and techniques, including Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness practices. Staying current with the latest in neuroscience and counseling theories is important to me, so I regularly review peer-reviewed articles, read books on new strategies that assist in the healing process, and attend training seminars. Recently, I completed training as a Trans Affirmative Therapist, and I approach learning as a lifelong journey. Whether you're dealing with addiction, anger management, ADHD, autism spectrum support, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, children's or adolescent mental and behavioral health, depression, developmental disabilities, dissociative disorders, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, multicultural and diversity issues, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, learning disorders, spirituality, suicidal ideation and self-harming, anxiety, trauma, family relationships, eating disorders, gender identity, grief, or bereavement, I am here to support you.
