I'm a LMSW specializing in anxiety, life-transitions and LGBTQIA+ issues. I believe therapy works best when there is trust developed in the therapeutic alliance. I bring curiosity and safety into our sessions while doing the deep work that invites in calm.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want our sessions to feel comfortable and meaningful. I ask questions, and focus on mindfulness because my goal is for you to leave each session feeling more compassionate toward yourself. I believe that a core tenant of psychotherapy is advocacy against anti-black racism and to create a social justice-orientated therapeutic environment. My approach is based in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, in which we will explore distress tolerance-building, goal-setting and reframing unhelpful thoughts.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually begin with a 60-minute session so we can explore your history and current presenting issues. From there, we settle into weekly sessions where we develop goals, identify core-beliefs, and build skills surrounding mindfulness and your values. I check in regularly about what's working and what's not, because I think therapy should evolve with you, not follow a rigid script.
