*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete the required intake forms prior to your appointment* I’m Rebecca, an LMHC with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Drama Therapy from Lesley University. I enjoy working with all different kinds of clients, but I tend to work mainly with those experiencing anxiety, OCD, and those with trauma histories. Everyone experiences anxiety to some degree; it’s a survival mechanism that can keep people safe and lead them to consider the dangers of what they are doing. When fears and anxieties start getting in the way of living your life in the way you’d hope to, therapy can help you explore, understand, and challenge those anxieties.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy from a psychodynamic and person-centered lens. I offer you an opportunity to explore how your present challenges relate to your history. You are the leader on the journey, and I view my role as a guide in the passenger’s seat—pointing out what I notice while leaving the wheel in your hands. In addition to being a talk therapist, I’m also a drama therapist. I see value in viewing challenges through the lens of role and story: what part do we play in our lives, and how can shifting role or lens affect how the story unfolds? Drama therapy is not only valuable for actors or those interested in theatre or the arts. Working within metaphor, exploring the self through story, can be useful to all. It’s a flexible approach, and you can shape the exercises to your preferences and needs. I’m also trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is an evidence-based practice that assists clients in reprocessing traumatic memories. I use it most with those who would like to process trauma, and it can also be utilized for reducing stress unrelated to traumatic experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

If you’re new to therapy, I want you to know the self-reflection required is hard work. It’s okay to feel tired by it and not want to do it all the time. Discomfort is a necessary element of therapy, but that doesn’t mean you have to keep that discomfort to yourself. Feel free to discuss how the process is going with me; openness can lead to better, more personalized care. I also know openness and honesty require trust, and I will work to earn, rather than assume that I have, your trust as your therapist.

I get that figuring out insurance can feel confusing and overwhelming, especially when you're already dealing with stress or anxiety. That's why I accept most major insurance plans and have a team that handles the details for you. We'll check your coverage, explain your costs clearly, and help you understand your options, so you can focus on feeling better, not paperwork. Most patients pay $35 or less per psychiatry appointment, including copays and deductibles. Getting support shouldn't feel like another impossible task, and with us, it doesn't have to.
