Hello, I'm Becky. Are you struggling and looking for help? Let's work together as you work through the healing process. I can help create a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental place for you to learn new skills, grieve a personal loss or manage struggles with mood. My approach to counseling is client-centered and solution-focused. I use different approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive therapy, and motivational interviewing. I combine my experience, education, and sense of humor with a realistic approach to counseling. My goal is to provide high-quality therapeutic support and honest communication with clients. With 30 years of experience as a clinical social worker, I have supported clients and families in managing feelings of anxiety and depression, and also give people skills to manage insomnia in ways that research proves to be useful. I have worked with clients in outpatient and telehealth settings working on managing anxiety and depression, as well as with hospice patients and their families as they anticipated the loss of loved ones. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and a Bachelor of Sociology from Wheaton College, Illinois. I am also a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in helping individuals navigate insomnia, anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, and life transitions. You can expect a caring, non-judgmental environment where we collaborate to work toward your goals and develop coping skills that work for you. I believe in honest communication and providing therapeutic support that is both compassionate and practical. You can expect a text from me within 48 hours of connecting. Alternatively, if you know you would like to work together, feel free to schedule an appointment on my calendar. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to healing.
