Rebecca Greenberg, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Riki, a licensed master social worker based in New York offering virtual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I have a particular focus on supporting women navigating complex divorce and domestic violence, and I bring a trauma-informed lens to everything I do. I also work with people facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is client-centered, which means I genuinely believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to show up with curiosity, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique experiences and strengths. I think of therapy as a kind of mental workout, a place to train the mind much like a muscle, building self-awareness, noticing patterns, and gently exploring ways to shift what isn't working. That process always happens at your pace, in a warm and nonjudgmental space. I accept several major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna, and offer a sliding scale fee for those who need it. I look forward to meeting you wherever you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

There is no right way to show up to therapy. You might arrive with clear goals and a lot to say, or you might not know where to start, and both are completely fine. Our first session is simply a chance to begin getting to know each other and explore what brings you in. My work is guided by the belief that every person has inherent worth, dignity, and purpose, regardless of background or circumstances. I approach the therapeutic space with genuine curiosity and see therapy as a collaborative process where we learn from one another. Together we will explore patterns, build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical tools to help you move toward the life you want to live. Your greatest strength is being you, and that is exactly what I hope you feel when you walk into a session with me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to what you need. Over time, you may notice you feel more self-aware, better able to understand your emotions and patterns, and more confident handling everyday challenges. Some people start responding to situations differently than they used to. Others notice a greater sense of clarity, calm, or control. Progress isn't always linear, so we check in regularly about what feels helpful and what doesn't, adjusting the work as your goals evolve. I draw on reflective and body-based methods, always with a trauma-informed foundation. My focus is on helping you build resilience and confidence at a pace that feels right for you, not on moving faster than you are ready to go.
