Getting to know Rebecca Wiersma

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by training with a heart for helping people. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families who have experienced trauma, are dealing with grief and loss, coping with stress/Anxiety/Depression or other emotional struggles related to a medical diagnosis, family or relationship issues or other daily stressors. My passion is getting to know people and meeting them where they are at in order to support them and help them navigate whatever it is they are dealing with or working through.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe we all have stories to tell and I want to hear yours. I want to get to know YOU! I want to know why you are here, what you are needing/wanting, and how I can help. For me, meeting clients where they are at means that what works for someone may not work for someone else, there is no such thing as "one size fits all" in therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I truly want to get to know you, build rapport and, in time, trust. I understand it can be awkward talking to a stranger about anything, much less hard or heavy things, but my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, heard and supported.
