Getting to know Rebekah Armstrong

Hello! My name is Becka Armstrong, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado, nearing full LPC licensure. I earned my B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I have several years of experience providing therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and adults across school-based, outpatient, and private practice settings, with much of my clinical experience focused on children, adolescents, and young adults.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a particular passion for working with children and adolescents and supporting them as they navigate emotions, relationships, life transitions, and challenges while developing a stronger understanding of themselves and their strengths. I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients and strive to create an affirming and flexible environment that honors each person's unique needs, strengths, and experiences. My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, holistic, and eclectic. I believe that mental and physical health are deeply connected and that effective care should consider the whole person and the many factors that shape their wellbeing. My approach may draw from Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family Systems, and other modalities, tailoring our work to each client’s needs and goals. I also rely heavily on collaboration within the therapy space and encourage clients to approach the process with curiosity and self-compassion. I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and I see my role as helping you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and develop tools that support meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My interest in whole-person care extends beyond my work in mental health, as I am currently pursuing nursing education. This experience has further strengthened my understanding of the connection between physical and emotional health and deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, integrated care. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening and caring for my many house plants, seeing live music, creating, and exploring new places and experiences. I also value spending time with my partner, friends, family, and dog Eleanor.
