Hello, I'm Renee. I began my journey in 1996 as a family liaison with Developmental Pathways after my son was born with an intellectual and developmental disability. This experience ignited my passion for providing support and information to other parents navigating similar challenges. Over the years, I've also served as a mentor for a group dedicated to rescuing girls and women from sex trafficking, an area that has become deeply important to me. I believe that even in the darkest of places, with compassion, empathy, and encouragement, there is always hope for a brighter future. As a therapist, my approach is centered on meeting you where you are and walking with you through the pain of the past. I strive to create a space where you feel understood and supported, allowing you to take responsibility for your current situation and move towards hope and healing. I firmly believe in the power of strong communication skills, which are often shaped by our environment. If we grow up in an environment lacking good communication, we may struggle in our relationships. That's why I teach active listening, understanding, and validation as the foundation for effective communication. I specialize in a wide range of areas, including gender identity, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, multicultural/diversity issues, OCD, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), phobias, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, sex/intimacy issues, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, trauma, ADHD, and family relationships. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions. My goal is to provide a compassionate and empathetic space where you can learn and grow. Together, we will work on developing the skills needed for good communication and building a path towards healing.
