“I was incredibly impressed by Ricky. I’ve met with counselors who are slow to respond and a lot less friendly as I’d hope. Ricky was quick to get back to me, kind, thoughtful, and super insightful. If you need someone to talk to Ricky is your guy! ”

Getting to know Ricky Esposito

With a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a focus on identity formation, career decision, trauma, and relationships, I have dedicated my life to helping you figure out yours. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and you have taken that first step in finding a therapist who is right for you. I am here to walk beside you along your journey. So, let's get to work.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that there is not a one-size-fits-all model for what works for clients, including what a "typical session" would look like. I will meet you where you are at and we'll go from there. I will have a plan of how to direct our session, however, maybe there's something else you want to talk about or work on. That's fine too. I honestly just roll with it. Our sessions will be a bit of back and forth between you directing our conversation and me pausing to explore a small topic here and there. That being said, I do like to spend the first few minutes of a session checking in on your general physical, social, and mental health. Then from there, we'll often talk about the nature of your problem, we'll explore it some more, and make new connections. Some clients like to dive back in where we left off from last week. Some clients like to go over some information sharing (for example, let's talk about the nature of anxiety and what happens in the body when you experience anxiety) which is often followed up with skills training (for example, skills in dealing with anxiety in the moment.) And then we will typically end on some homework or an exercise or experiment you will be working on before our next session.
