Getting to know Rita Wilson

Hi, I’m Rita! I am a Neurodiverse clinician who offers therapy sessions that honor both science and soul — an evidence-based, grounded, trauma-informed space for people who are ready to explore healing on their own terms. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Master of Science in Social Work where I earned a Military Specialization Certification. My practice is eclectic, integrative and client centered. I believe in honoring your unique experiences and how they impact your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I often bring my quirky sense of humor and combine my lived and professional experiences to hold space for my clients as an actual human being. I am a fan of accountability and tend to hold both supportive and strategy-focused space for my clients. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ folks, Neurodiverse Women and Military Service Members/Veterans and their families. I find that I work best with people who may identify as alternative thinkers, highly sensitive and struggle to fit into the box that society creates for us. I have been married for 16 years to a wonderful human who is a retired Army Combat Veteran and we have three adult daughters who are the lights of my life. I share my living and office space here in Kentucky with three senior cats (Kitten, Loki, and Pirate Jack), and two pomskies pups (Poe and Finn). To practice taking care of myself, I spend time gardening, making herbal tinctures, chilling in nature, going to concerts and eating good food with my little family.
