“I have struggled to connect with a therapist and it was 2-3 appointments in that I knew we were going to work well together. It felt like the first time someone not only listened but truly helped me articulate my struggles and where I get stuck. His manner and kindness helped me dig deep and his reflections gave me insight and direction. He truly is what I had always hoped I’d find in a trusted therapist. ”

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means stepping into a space where your whole self is welcome. Yes, the messy, the hopeful, and everything in between. My style is warm, collaborative, and eclectic, blending insight with practical tools to help you feel steadier and more authentic. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you; it’s about discovering new possibilities and building a stronger relationship with yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin by listening closely to your story, your history, and what brings you to therapy now. Together, we clarify your goals and map out a direction that feels both grounding and hopeful. Early sessions focus on building trust, while weaving in practical tools you can use right away. As our work deepens, I help you uncover patterns, process difficult experiences, and create new ways of relating to yourself and others. My process is always collaborative, built at your pace, in service of lasting growth and change.

In-network insurances

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance

More information on payments and coverage

I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. I accept all major credit cards and can provide a detailed monthly invoice (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many plans in New York offer out-of-network mental health benefits, allowing clients to receive partial reimbursement while maintaining greater choice and privacy in their care. Choosing to pay privately and use a superbill gives you more control over your therapy. It allows us to focus on your goals without the limitations of insurance, such as required diagnoses, session caps, or restrictions on treatment approaches. It also keeps your records fully confidential between us, which many clients value deeply. I also offer a limited number of sliding-scale openings to make therapy more accessible for those who need it.

I’ve never had a therapist that was so present with me during my sessions. I felt so seen and heard and I felt very comfortable. I would recommend to anyone looking for real help and change!
Bobby is such a warm, empathic, and kind therapist! And I feel like he actually listens and provides insightful feedback. I can tell he really cares about the work he does and about helping people. At the same time, he's not one to just sit there and agree with me just for the paycheck - he engages in a conversation and challenges me to really think and make changes.
